Search for Peer Reviewed Articles

Search Strategy for Peer Reviewed Articles:  Be specific with your search terms.  Start with the main idea of your topic.  Then, add in one or two more terms to narrow your results.  Match your keyword to those used by experts.

There are 3 main tools to use to search for scholarly, peer reviewed articles.  Each tool has it’s pro’s and con’s so try all 3!

1. Search the PSU Library website main search box (catalog).  Use the Peer Reviewed filter on the left side of your results screen.  The video below describes finding recent articles, specifically peer reviewed ones at the 1:30 mark.

2.  Search in a subject specific or general library database.  For example, our most popular general database is Academic Search Premier.

3.  Search in Google Scholar.

Not sure if the article you found is peer reviewed?  This video describes how to tell if an article is peer reviewed.
