Food Textures and Consistencies

Description

Regular No change to food
Cut to size
  • 1-inch pieces (width of fork)
  • 1/2-inch pieces (width of a butter knife)
  • 1/4-inch pieces (width of #2 pencil)
Ground Moist, similar to the consistency of canned tuna fish, with chunks no larger than a grain of rice
Puree Smooth, pudding-like consistency, with no chunks

Liquid Consistencies

Description

Thin liquid Normal, no change, runs quickly through the prongs of a fork
Nectar thick Lightly thickened, pours in a constant stream, similar to the consistency of a syrup
Honey thick Pours slowly, sticks to the side of a cup, like cream
Pudding thick Holds shape when scooped with a spoon
