2 Subordinate Clauses

The subjunctive is found most frequently in subordinate clauses. In fact, it got the name “subjunctive” because it mainly appears in subordinate clauses. There are three types of subordinate clauses: noun clauses, relative (or adjective) clauses, and adverbial clauses. Both the indicative and the subjunctive can appear in these clauses.
